Singer detail and invitation below
Note from Dan Wolfgram, Director
Dear Singers, December 2021
I hope this singer invitation letter finds you in good health and even better spirits. Oh, how I have missed you and your voices! I wanted to extend to you an official invitation to join the Waupaca Community Chorus for what promises to be an enjoyable and memorable 57th Concert. Due to Covid-19, we have been on hiatus for two years! I have heard from many of you in the “off-season” and that you are looking forward to coming back to join forces, and raise our voices in a collective celebration of singing.
I am promoting this year as a Choral Reunion Concert – “A Celebration of Song”. The repertoire for the performance will be selected from past concerts of the Waupaca Community Choir, and the tentative repertoire is listed on a separate sheet in this mailing. The concert weekend is slated for Saturday, April 2nd (dress rehearsal) and the concert on Sunday, April 3 at 2 PM in the Waupaca High School PAC.
Covid Mitigation Strategies: Due to the ongoing nature of the pandemic, masking is strongly encouraged but remains optional. You will NOT have to show proof of vaccination status or any other kind of antibody test to participate. Should the pandemic change course we would need to abide by the parameters dictated by the School District of Waupaca for visiting guests.
Our first rehearsal will be Tuesday, January 4th in the choir room of Waupaca High School. The scores will be on sale in the Commons/Lobby Hallway of the high school from 6:45 to 7:30 PM with a rehearsal from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. Tuesday rehearsals will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
The cost of music and participation will be $55.75 You are welcome to use your own personal scores from previous performances. The choir library does have complimentary copies available of most selections if you are financially challenged. These will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are using your own score or borrowing from the choir library, we ask that you contribute $5.00 for membership dues.
I also want to address the issue of weather and attendance. In past years, it was reported to me that many members felt that due to poor weather conditions early in the rehearsal schedule, they chose not to join. While attendance at rehearsals is important to our journey together, do not let a few missed rehearsals due to poor weather or vacation plans prohibit you from being a member of this experience!
Don’t miss this, our 57th Anniversary Concert celebrating these great choral works. Do pass the invitation to any singers in the area to join your Community Choir. Previous experience and audition are not required. Bring a new friend; we are always seeking energetic new members.
The Waupaca Community Theatre has been presenting outstanding productions for nearly 40 years! Talented casts, full pit orchestras, a beautiful hall ... learn about our current season, past shows, and how you can play a part.
The Waupaca Community Children's Theatre is an opportunity for young actors and actresses to be "onstage" for such musical shows as Shrek, Mulan, Seussical, and Alice in Wonderland.
The Waupaca Community Choir is a non-auditioned choir which welcomes singers of all ages and abilities. The choir has a 56-year tradition of presenting master choral works with orchestra to the greater Waupaca Community. The typical season begins rehearsals in January with a culminating performance in late March to early April.
The 2022 Waupaca Art Show will be held in April and will be the 56th annual event. It will feature art and artists from across the region and will be at a beautiful new location, the Danes Hall.
