The Waupaca Community Children’s Theatre, instituted in the summer of 2006, was an outgrowth of the Waupaca Community Theatre as a response to the overwhelming number of children who wished to participate in summer shows but perhaps were unable due to the cast size/needs or thematic elements of the summer mainstage productions. The cast of elementary to senior high school age students rehearses during June and July and then presents multiple performances of the musical at area libraries and community locations in late July. A “mini-tour” of sorts, the program provides a wonderful learning experience for the students and a great feeder system for the Waupaca Community Theatre. Auditions are held in late spring.
The Waupaca Community Children’s Theatre is overseen by the Waupaca Community Theatre’s Board of Directors.
