Choir

About Us:

The Waupaca Community Choir is a non-auditioned choir which welcomes singers of all ages and abilities. The choir has over a 60-year tradition of presenting master choral works with orchestra to the greater Waupaca Community. The typical season begins rehearsals in January with a culminating performance in late March to early April.

This year’s concert will feature an entirely new selection of music, sung mostly in English— with one small exception. We’ll be showcasing Broadway hits, powerful spirituals, and fresh stand-alone pieces that will challenge us as singers and stretch our creative boundaries as artists. The orchestra will also take center stage in a musical theater selection! With such a diverse range of music, I’m calling this year’s concert a “collage” performance. If you haven’t sung with us recently, this is the year to come back! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be part of a memorable musical experience. And please, invite your friends, family, students, and neighbors to join us too!

The concert weekend will take place on Saturday, April 5th (dress rehearsal) and Sunday, April 6th at 2:30 PM in the Waupaca High School Performing Arts Center.

Our first rehearsal will be Tuesday, January 7th, in the choir room at Waupaca High School. Scores will be available for purchase in the Commons/Lobby Hallway from 6:45 to 7:30 PM, with the rehearsal following from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. Subsequent Tuesday rehearsals will run from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

Because of the wide variety of music we’ll be presenting, the total cost for all choral scores and the participation fee is $45.

While attendance at rehearsals is important to our success, please don’t let a few missed rehearsals—whether due to weather or vacation plans—prevent you from joining us! This is an experience you won’t want to miss.

I invite you to be part of our 62nd Anniversary “Collage” Concert, celebrating these wonderful choral works. Please also pass along this invitation to any singers in the area who may want to join our community choir. We’ve updated our mailing list in recent years, and we want to make sure everyone feels welcome. Previous choral experience and auditions are not required—just bring your enthusiasm and a friend!
